Academic Career Planning
All students in grades 6-12 are developing Academic and Career Plans guided by parents, teachers, and counselors. This plan is a step-by-step process that leads students through a series of tasks that provide direction toward career decisions. The following links include each secondary building's Academic Career Plans:
G2M Out-of-School Learning
G2M stands for Growing Great Minds, Wausau School District's Out of School Learning Program, which provides academic & enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children. This program operates out of 13 school sites within WSD -- 11 elementary schools and 2 middle schools.
Gifted Education
In the state of Wisconsin, “'Gifted and talented pupils' means pupils enrolled in public schools who give evidence of high performance capability in intellectual, creative, artistic, leadership, or specific academic areas and who need services or activities not ordinarily provided in a regular school program in order to fully develop such capabilities.” (Wisconsin Statutes § 118.35)
Gold Card
The Gold Card offers free admission to almost every musical, theatrical, or athletic event in the District’s schools. Those events that are not included are clearly noted on the back of the card.

Leader In Me®
Leader in Me® is used by schools and school districts all around the world with the goal of inspiring greatness in every student. Our students, starting at age 5, will learn the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy, maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
O.N.E. Volunteer Network
O.N.E. (Our Network for Education) is the Wausau School District's Volunteer Program and supports the Key Interest: Foster mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations that expand learning opportunities and resources. Each school’s volunteer program reflects the unique needs of their students and the district-wide program provides an umbrella of support and assistance to each school.
Resolution of Commendation Program
The Resolution of Commendation Program provides the Board of Education with a formal process of recognizing students who have brought honor upon themselves and the District through outstanding achievement and/or community service. To be considered for the Resolution of Commendation, individual students or groups must be nominated by District staff.
